Night Vision Tech Tangles Troops in Afghanistan

Wired latest article in Danger Room has a good article entitled "Night Vision Tech Tangles Troops in Afghanistan".  In the article it's author David Axe discusses the PVS-15 "NOD" in military speak and it's PRO's and CON's of it's use in the field of nightime warfare.

It has long been KNOWN in wars since the GULF war that the American Military OWNS the night.  It's advancements in Nightvision and Stealth technology allow them to implement the lesson's learned in the Vietnam War.  However Axe goes on to point out as the Iraqis in there country have taken over and now as the Afghan army is taking over.  The difference between their abilities is CLEARLY shown.  In an instance that he points out, US Troops and Afghan troops are working an area.  The Afghan troops here something suspicious and rush in that direction with their AK47's at the ready.  The US troops go no where as they have not seen anything with there "NOD".  He covers alot of info in this article and seems to be pretty down on the US Credibility there but taking information and moving forward to the next war, we will learn lessons and review and come up with newer devices to help our warriors at their task of protection.  PRO or CON take the article at face value
